Jill graduated from SUNY Delhi in May of 2004. After college she worked for Dr. Lucia Roberts outside of Lowville, NY for a little under a year. It was this small animal hospital that got her started on the right foot towards her future in veterinary medicine. During that time Jill learned what it was like to be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) at a single veterinarian practice.  In February of 2005, Jill joined the VVH family. It was quite a change going from a one doctor practice to seven, but she has welcomed the challenge. Cruciate surgery was not a very common scene at Dr. Roberts hospital, but now it had become a weekly occurrence for her here at VVH.  While several new doors began to open here for her at VVH, Jill has become fond of certain areas of special interest, including chemo therapy, dentals, some behavioral issues, laboratory work, like manual CBC's, and ultrasound. She especially loves to learn the different sections of a patient's body in an ultrasound, with a special interest in cardiology.  Jill has also learned to communicate well with clients during her time at VVH. She has shown a kind, gentle, and polite nature to those around her. In return she has earned the same from others. Noticing this quality, Jill was offered a new position within the hospital, Head Veterinary Technician. She accepted the position with enthusiasm in September of 2007. Upon taking this new position she has become one of the key players in keeping VVH organized and ready for all of the many day to day challenges. Jill is honored to be a member of the VVH family and thanks all of the team members for teaching her so much about the field of veterinary medicine.  She continues to learn and grow in the field through Continuing Education every year. Most recently she attended a seminar in Baltimore, MD on veterinary practice management and animal behavior issues.  Jill has what her family jokes about as “a zoo at home.” She has 4 cats (Sawmeres, Cricket, Charlie, and Lirit) and a fresh water aquarium. Some of her favorite past times are reading, drawing, writing, listening to all genres of music, swimming, role playing on GaiaOnline, and camping.

Lisa was born and raised in Syracuse, NY.  From a young age she wished she could talk to and understand animals.  If she couldn’t do that literally, then she would simply learn as much as she could about them.  Over the years Lisa has worked in several different areas of the pet industry, including managing pet retail stores, both large and small for over 14 years, grooming for 4 years and working as a veterinary assistant on and off for several years,  most recently here at VVH.  These jobs have helped her understand the pet owning public, the human/animal bond and helped her learn to communicate effectively with people to help them take the best care of their companions.  Lisa has a brown belt in martial arts, placing in state championships and qualifying for nationals twice.  She spent 12 years as a member of the Pompey Hill Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter, emergency medical technician and was involved in rope rescue.  She has trained 9 and titled 5 of her own dogs in multiple sports and disciplines including obedience, agility, schutzhund and weight pulling.  She attends seminars and classes from some of the best known trainers and behaviorists from across the country.  Her special interest is solving behavior problems such as fears, phobias and aggression.  For more information about Lisa and her training classes please visit her website found in our “Obedience/Training” section in the menu to the left.
